Lopi knitting books contain instructions for classic Icelandic sweaters with traditional patterns, but also in modern design modifications, in current cuts and shapes, in combination with lace and cable patterns. In addition to sweaters and cardigans for children, teenagers and adults, there are also accessories such as scarves, hats and gloves as well as blankets and pillows.
 
The instructions contain pattern drawings and explanations of how to knit each model with information on the size. In addition, there are general recommendations and explanations for all sweater models. For example, the procedure for intarsia knitting of the typical Icelandic patterns is explained.
